Financial Assistance

All levels of government are committed to education and skill development, and as a result offer opportunities for funded training. Funding is typically directed towards meeting skills needs in priority industry areas, and/or assisting students to gain employment.

Eligibility criteria applies throughout and will vary depending on funding conditions. As funding is geographically targeted, applicable information can be found under specific locations, such as New South Wales, Queensland or nationally. New South Wales

Smart and Skilled

We are pleased to offer the following qualifications under the Smart and Skilled Program, which is a New South Wales Government initiative.

EAT New Entrant Traineeship All students who are approved or registered as NSW apprentices or NSW new entrant trainees are eligible. All of our approved qualifications are available to new entrant trainees.
EFQ Entitlement Full Qualification Students who meet the personal Smart and Skilled eligibility requirements and who do not have a Certificate IV or higher level qualification are eligible. The Certificate III in Business Administration (Medical) has been included in our allocations in the Richmond Tweed and Central West regions.
TP Targeted Priority All students who meet the personal Smart and Skilled eligibility requirements  are eligible. The Certificate IV in Government (Investigation) is a targeted priority qualification in the Sydney area.

Queensland

Construction Skills Queensland

Construction Skills Queensland (CSQ) is an independent industry-funded body supporting employers, workers, apprentices and career seekers in the building and construction industry.

Higher Level Skills program

The Higher Level Skills program is designed to assist existing workers in the building and construction industry in Queensland to gain new skills and knowledge. This program provides funded training across a range of higher level qualifications, including;

UNE Partnerships is able to offer funded places under the Higher Level Skills program to eligible participants in the following regions:

  • Darling Downs – Toowoomba
  • Gold Coast
  • Northern
  • Sunshine Coast

Queensland Department of Education and Training

UNE Partnerships has a pre-qualified supplier agreement with the Queensland Government Department of Education and Training and can offer the following funded study options to Queensland students.

 

Certificate 3 Guarantee

The Certificate 3 Guarantee gives eligible Queenslanders access to a government subsidised training place, up to and including their first post-school Certificate III level qualification in priority training areas. A subsidy is paid to the training provider to reduce the cost of the course to the student. The amount of the subsidy varies depending on the demand for skilled workers in a particular industry and the needs of the student.

Subsidised cost (Concessional): $250

Higher Level Skills

The Higher Level Skills program provides eligible applicants with access to one subsidised training place in selected qualifications at AQF4 (Certificate IV) and above. A subsidy is paid to the training provider to reduce the cost of the course to the student. The amount of the subsidy varies depending on the demand for skilled workers in a particular industry and the needs of the student.

Subsidised cost: $500

Subsidised cost (Concessional): $150

User Choice – Traineeship

UNE Partnerships is a Pre-Qualified Supplier in Queensland for User Choice Traineeships and school-based traineeships. User Choice Traineeships require a training contract signed by the employer, the trainee and the Department of Education, Training and Employment. This training contract is prepared by an Australian Apprenticeship Provider.
