Certificate IV in Government


SUITABLE FOR:

Those working independently within government departments at local, state or federal level. The qualification is particularly suited to those working in an environment where there is a range of diverse responsibilities rather than a narrow specialisation.

Study Workload: 5-10 hours per week
Entry Requirements: Students need to be currently working in a public sector organisation in order to complete the required assessment tasks. No prior qualifications are necessary, although numeracy and literacy at a minimum Year 10 standard are required to demonstrate competencies.

SKILLS OUTCOME

At the successful completion of this course students will be able to :

  • Understand the values, principles, processes and legislation requirements for those working within the public sector.
  • Implement effective workplace operational plans.
  • Initiate, implement and report on investigations through interviews and evidence gathering.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)

Given some participants may already be able to demonstrate their competence in some units, RPL is available which acknowledges skills and knowledge that may have been gained through formal and informal training and/or learning, work experience and life experience.
