Graduate Certificate in Management
Application for Admission
Once you have completed the Diploma or Advanced Diploma of Management you can then apply for Admission to the award of Graduate Certificate in Management. In addition to the formal study, applicants are required to provide evidence of at least three years relevant work experience in a field of employment approved by the Director of the Graduate School of Business (GSB). UNE Partnerships will coordinate all of your admission and enrolment procedures. When your application is successful you will be sent an offer of enrolment. Upon acceptance of this offer you will be required to complete the Graduate Certificate in six trimesters, with the first stage being the Strategic Planning and Leadership (SPL) Program followed by 2 GSB units. If you have completed the Advanced Diploma of Management you gain credit for the SPL Program and therefore only need to complete 2 GSB units.

Strategic Planning and Leadership Program
The Strategic Planning and Leadership Program is a bridging executive development course to enable articulation from vocational Diplomas to Graduate Certificates.
Module 1 - Strategic Direction (National Business Services competencies BSBMGT601A/602A)
The aim of this module is to provide a solid understanding of the strategic planning process. It will equip participants with the skills and knowledge to produce and implement an organisational strategy. It includes the strategic planning process, organisational analysis, market analysis, establishing a strategic direction, sustaining competitive advantage and developing effective strategic measurement systems.
Module 2 - Leadership (National Business Services competencies BSBMGT605A)
This module provides an overview of the nature and practice of organisational leadership. It includes organisational communication, influence and power, working as a team, gaining team commitment, styles of leadership and management and leadership planning.
GSB Units
The second component of the Graduate Certificate program, delivered through the University of New England, is comprised of two GSB units which may be selected from the following:
- GSB 702 Fundamentals of Accounting and Finance for Managers
- GSB 721 Processes of Management
- GSB 731 Marketing Management
- GSB 738 Organisational Behaviour
- GSB 751 Business Ethics
- GSB 781 Special Topic in Action Learning
- GSB 782 Action Learning Project
Workload and Assessment
The Strategic Planning and Leadership Program is based on a 15 week study period with an average of ten hours study required per week. Module 1 requires the completion of two assignments, and Module 2 the completion of one assignment. The study period commences upon enrolment.
Fees
How much does it cost for a Graduate Certificate?
Fees for the Graduate Certificate program are paid in two parts. The Strategic Planning and Leadership Program has a total cost of $1400 which is payable upon your acceptance of enrolment.
GSB units cost $1400 each. You are usually required to pay for each unit at the beginning of the trimester in which you have enrolled. You may be eligible to defer payment of the GSB units through the FEE-HELP Scheme offered by the Commonwealth Government. Australian Institute of Project Management (AIPM) Recognition
AIPM's Project Management Recognition Council equates the successful completion of UNE Partnerships' Project Management qualifications with meeting the candidature assessment requirements for:
- Diploma of Project Management - Registered Project Manager (RPM)
- Advanced Diploma of project management - Master Project Director (MPD)
MBA Pathway
Completion of the Graduate Certificate in Project Management with a Credit average or better allows articulation into the Master of Business Administration, with a possible major in Project Management. You will receive Advanced Standing for your Graduate Certificate of 4 units toward the 12 unit MBA.
