Generic Induction to Coal Mining - Trainers and Assessors

UNE Partnerships is calling for applications from suitably qualified and experienced trainers and assessors for delivery and assessment of the Generic Induction to Coal Mining program.

All mine workers are required by law to carry out an induction prior to commencing work at a mine and the Generic Induction program is designed to maximize the off-site components and minimize the on-site components thus reducing the costs to the mine sites.

The Generic Induction program aims to enable a new starter on a mine site to work safely until further on-the-job training is provide and eliminate the need for repetitive induction training.

UNE Partnerships, the Education and Training Company of the University of New England, seeks expressions of interest from specialist trainers to facilitate workshops for corporate clients and public programs.

Applicants must have high level workshop facilitation skills backed up by vocational and training experience. Facilitators with specialist knowledge and qualifications in the following key subject areas are encouraged to apply:

As selected members of the UNE Partnerships Program Team, it is expected that facilitators will deliver a high level of service both internally to UNE Partnerships and to its students and clients. UNE Partnerships aims to develop the best possible skills and knowledge available in the field through provision of a combination of academic and industry expertise, high quality course materials, assessment tools, student support and administration, and evaluation.

Only persons with the required qualifications and experience will train and assess on UNE Partnerships programs. As a minimum UNE Partnerships trainers and assessors are expected to meet the following requirements.

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS FOR TRAINERS AND ASSESSORS

Qualifications and Experience

Essential
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAA40104) or equivalent
  • a qualification equivalent to or higher than that being taught in a corresponding area
  • a minimum of 10 years industry experience
  • a minimum 5 years experience as a trainer and assessor in the vocational education and training sector
  • a relevant tertiary qualification
General requirements

In addition to meeting the requirements for qualifications and experience applicants must have a registered business under which to offer consultancy services and appropriate insurances.

  • Public Liability insurance ($5M)
  • Professional Indemnity insurance ($5M)
  • Workers compensation insurance (where required)

Approved provider status

Applicants must be reviewed and approved by the relevant UNE Partnerships Academic Director before becoming an approved service provider. Applications should be accompanied by contact details for at least two recent clients who can attest to the applicant’s facilitation skills and knowledge of the subject matter.
