Code of Practice
UNE Partnerships is committed to ensuring the continuing high standing of itself as a corporate citizen and provider of quality professional training and services to meet our clients’ needs - as their needs are fulfilled so are ours.
This Code of Practice sets out guidelines for the ethical conduct of UNE Partnerships as a provider of nationally and internationally recognised training and development.
Consultants and others acting on behalf of UNE Partnerships are committed to these guidelines.
Quality of training and development provision
- UNE Partnerships’ policies and management practices will ensure high professional standards in the marketing and delivery of training courses and programs in order to safeguard the training and development interests of all clients.
- UNE Partnerships will ensure that a learning environment is maintained that is conducive to the ongoing successful achievement of learning outcomes by all participants when enhancing and recognising existing skills and knowledge, gaining new skills and knowledge and when putting these into practice in the workplace.
- Where possible client groups continuing the learning processes through on-the-job assessments, projects and assignments will acquire the skills and confidence to deliver the quality outcome they demand of UNE Partnerships. In particular, support and encouragement will be given to client groups to provide facilities and resources appropriate to all participants’ needs and levels of understanding.
- UNE Partnerships will monitor the continued performance of all participants regardless of whether they are linked to a current or to a past training program.
- UNE Partnerships will ensure that trainers and assessors, providing training or assessment by or on behalf of UNE Partnerships, are suitably qualified for vocational education, have content qualifications greater than that being assessed and are experienced in the practice of those skills in the workplace.
Marketing
- UNE Partnerships will ensure that the marketing of all training and education activities is carried out with integrity, accuracy and professionalism.
- UNE Partnerships will ensure that marketing of all courses and programs does not detract from the reputation and interests of other providers.
- UNE Partnerships will ensure that the needs of client groups are at the forefront of any advice, guidance and counselling provided, whether this is given during training and education activities or as part of the validation and assessment of these activities.
Course administration
- UNE Partnerships will ensure that the nomination and endorsement of potential participants is carried out in an ethical and responsible manner, consistent with the principles of equal opportunity and equity and access, and consistent with the requirements of the curriculum.
- UNE Partnerships will ensure that client groups, and participants, have access to accurate, relevant and up-to-date information prior to the commencement of any program. This will include, but is not limited to:
- this Code of Practice
- admissions and commencement procedures
- certification or qualification to be issued as a result of full or partial completion of the course/program
- methods of learning and nature/type of workplace projects to be carried out
- competencies to be achieved and how they will be assessed
- the arrangement for Recognition of Prior Learning
- grievance/appeal procedures
- any special facilities or resources necessary for the course or program
- support available to participants with special needs
- location and type of support and advice available to all participants
