Who is the Certificate in Facilities Management for?

| Entry Requirements: | Participants need to be currently working in an environment related to the coursework (or be intending to do so), or be able to access a suitable work-based environment. It is recommended that participants should have achieved Year 10 or equivalent level in english and mathematics. |

| Assessment: | There are two assessment tasks to be completed to gain the Facilities Management Certificate. Participants are asked to prepare a management plan and then implement and monitor the plan for one section of work, within the management of the facility that they are responsible for. |

SKILLS OUTCOME
At the completion of this course, depending on electives, you will have the skills to:
- Plan operations of work area within a facility
- Manage the operations of the facility under your responsibility
- Contribute to the risk management process within your FMU
- Ability to procure good & services
- Assist in the administration & finalisation of contracts
- Maintain sections of a facility under your responsibility according to operational requirements
- Contribute to budget
- Monitor & maintain costs & records
- Contribute to the selection, training, supervision & motivation of staff
RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)
Given some participants may already be able to demonstrate their competence in some units, RPL is available and acknowledges skills and knowledge that may have been gained through formal and informal training and/or learning, work experience and life experience.
