The Diploma is for those who: Wish to gain high levels of supervisory, decision-making and problem-solving skills to achieve organisational outcomes.

Delivery Options:

Candidature: 18 months
Study Workload: Estimated 6.5 hours per week over 18 months.
Entry Requirements: No prior qualifications are necessary, however management responsibility plus Year 10 numeracy and literacy strandard is required to demonstrate competencies
Course Materials: Comprehensive study package including course guide, study notes, online resources, activities, readings, assessment tools plus full administrative and academic support.
Course Modules: Select 8 modules comprising of four recommended core modules and four elective modules

  • Manage people (BSBFLM514A)
  • Manage operational plans (BSBFLM505B)

Elective - choose four from the following

  • Facilitate and capitalise on change and innovation (BSBFLM510B)
  • Facilitate continuous improvement (BSBFLM509B)
  • Manage projects (BSBCMN419A)
  • Manage quality customer service (BSBFLM507B)
  • Evaluate marketing opportunities (BSBMKG501A)
  • Develop a media plan (BSBADV507A)
  • Ensure a safe workplace (BSBMGT505A)
  • Manage meetings (BSBADM502A)
  • Recruit, select, and induct staff (BSBMGT506A)
Assessment: The assessment is composed of work-based assignments and satisfactorily fulfilling the requirements of the competency record.

SKILLS OUTCOME

On completion, students will have achieved the knowledge and skills to plan and manage the critical elements of projects and to:

  • Write effective project plans to meet the delivery requirements of corporate/business expectations
  • Use mechanisms linked with the plan for the day-to-day control of projects to meet objectives
  • Provide quality deliverables, with the ability to meet reporting requirements on demand
  • Select appropriate tools to support monitoring and control mechanisms
  • Assign agreed responsibilities to get the best out of core and broader team capabilities.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)

Given some participants may already be able to demonstrate their competence in some units, RPL is available and acknowledges skills and knowledge that may have been gained through formal and informal training and/or learning, work experience and life experience.
