Module Outlines - Advanced Diploma of Business Management (Human Resources)


Manage people (BSBFLM514A)

Developing an effective management style to manage and lead team members within an
organisation is an important human resource skill. This module addresses the issues relating to
personal leadership style and performance when working with a team by promoting the efficient
allocation of resources through analysis, review and evaluation of the human resource
management process within the organisation.

Manage change (BSBHR601A)

Activities associated with the identification, development, implementation and evaluation of
strategic change requirements and opportunities are covered in this module. It is closely
aligned to BSBHR603A.

Manage human resource strategic planning (BSBHR602A)

This Module is a critical one for any human resource manager, and should be undertaken after a firm grounding has been established across a range of human resource activities. It covers the activities required to develop, implement and maintain a strategic approach to the management of human resources in an organisation.

Contribute to organisation development (BSBHR603A)

This module covers the development of an organisational plan, preparing for an organisation’s ongoing approach to development, and the implementation and maintenance of its organisational development process.

Manage employee relations (BSBHR604A)

The module covers all aspects of employee relations impacting on managers at the strategic level. It seeks to develop and maintain a positive and productive workplace environment at all times.

Contribute to organisation design (BSBHR605A)

This module covers the review stage which precedes any organisational design activity. It then deals with the development of appropriate planning tools for organisation redesign.

Provide leadership across the organisation (BSBMGT605A)

The leadership module provides an overview of the nature and practice of organisational leadership. It includes: organisational communication, influence and power, working as a team, gaining team commitment, styles of leadership and management and  leadership planning.

Manage customer focus (BSBMGT606A)

The module identifies the importance of developing a customer focus for internal and external customers in the business environment. Emphasis is placed on the tactical level to initiate business expansion through improved plans that maintain consistent customer satisfaction levels. It addresses: identifying customers, determining customer needs, managing the delivery of products/services to customers and monitoring and evaluating the quality of customer service.

Manage innovation & continuous improvement (BSBMGT608A)

This module aims to assist participants to understand the  issues involved in sustaining an organisational environment in which continuous improvement and learning are promoted and
rewarded. It includes: impact of technology on organisational sustainability, developing options for continuous improvement, understanding innovation, entrepreneurial behaviour, change
management, contingency planning and risk management.
