Training suitability

This qualification develops dynamic leaders looking at broadening their business perspective, enhancing management capability and strengthening leadership behaviour. It provides practical workplace-focused training to effectively manage the strategic direction of a business through leadership, financial management and comprehensive business operations.

Candidature: 18 months
Study Workload: 5 - 10 hours per week over 12 months
Entry Requirements: Candidates must have 3 years (minimum) relevant workplace experience to allow them to demonstrate achievement of management competencies.

Theme 5 - Finance and risk

Employability Skills: Employability Skills for each qualification have been determined by the Department of Education, Employment and Workforce Relations (DEEWR). These skills are required to gain employment, or establish an enterprise, to progress within an organisation to expand employment capability, with the aim of achieving individual potential and contributing successfully to organisational strategic outcomes.

SKILLS OUTCOME

At the successful completion of this course, depending on electives, students will be able to:

  • Strategically plan and implement an organisational strategy
  • Assess and implement leadership styles and planning
  • Promote and manage continuous improvement and learning
  • Assist in the development of business plans and business operations
  • Participate in financial management, from the preparation and analysis of responsible budgetary plans and decision making, to the development of capital investment proposals.

RECOGNITION OF PRIOR LEARNING (RPL)

Given that some participants may already be able to demonstrate their competence in some units, a recognition of prior learning assessment process is available to acknowledge skills and knowledge that may have been gained through formal and informal training and/or learning, work experience and life experience.
